Audio and video loops of a newsprint catalogue created from sounds and stills captured from its printing process.
The use of nature photography in the system was driven by our interest in tying the event with the origins of Bushwick, or Boswijck in 17th century Dutch, merely a small town in the woods. At a glance, the images may evoke a bleak reaction, but at same time project a sense of optimism to this ever-evolving segment of Brooklyn, New York.
BOS2012 program graphic design and photography; original offset printing plates, black and magenta, sets of 3; video, 3 planes, created from original photography, images captured in the woods of Portugal; audio, 2 sources, created in part from multiple recordings of offset printing processes.
Collective Assembly is an independent multi- disciplinary design studio for public benefit, in collaboration with local communities, the arts, non-commercial, and commercial alike.
